We offer different types of MDF sheets for various applications which can be cut to any size or shape using our CNC router for a high level of accuracy and the option of precise duplication. Whatever shape you have in mind, we can cut it – all you need to do is send us your drawings, in either CAD format or a sketch, and we can create it for you. In addition to cutting any shape or curve, our CNC router can be used for rebating, pocketing and hole cutting on MDF sheets, as well as virtually any other sheet material. Additionally, there is the option to add laser cutting and CNC engraving services, and mitred edges.
Using state-of-the-art UV printers, we can print full sheets of MDF in one go, providing a consistent finish at a much faster rate than painting. We currently only list 8x4 sheets (2440x1220mm) but we’re able to purchase and cut sheets of up to 2000x3000mm, so get in touch with our team today to discuss your requirements. With optional next day delivery, your products can be with you fast. For larger orders, we have our own transport service which operates throughout most of the UK. And if you have a bigger ongoing project taking place, you can contact us to discuss bulk discounts and regular supply orders.
MDF is a popular and adaptable material that is made up of small strands of mixed hard and soft woods, combined with resins and wax to produce a hard-wearing but lightweight panel. It has a smooth surface that makes it perfectly suited to painting or applying veneers and thin laminates, resulting in a great finish. MDF sheets are available in a range of thicknesses and sizes and can be machined easily for a limitless range of shapes to suit any project. We offer bespoke cutting and printing services, as well as a fast turnaround and quick delivery, for added convenience. Our main sizes are 12mm MDF sheets and 18mm MDF sheets, cut to size or shape.
Types of MDF Grade
There are several different varieties of MDF, depending on the application you’re using it for.
- Moisture-resistant grade MDF can be used in areas of homes or businesses where moisture or humidity is an issue, such as bathrooms, kitchens or storage areas.
- Premier-grade MDF sheeting is a high-quality material that makes use of superior wood refining technology and high-grade resins for greater consistency both in terms of thickness and quality. This form of MDF is best-suited to furniture, toys or cabinetry, delivering a reliable and uniform result.
- Fire-retardant-grade MDF is commonly used in schools, hospitals, offices or cinemas and can provide up to 60 minutes of fire protection when used in applications such as doors, kick plates or partitions.
Advantages of MDF Sheets Cut to Size
There are many benefits to using MDF over other types of wood, but one of the primary reasons it is so popular is for its cost-effectiveness. There are MDF options to suit all budgets and requirements, but even premier-grade MDF is more affordable than solid lumber and delivers excellent face properties for the thinnest laminates and surface coatings for a number of interior applications.
MDF takes well to most adhesives and paints, so it’s great for customising for different projects, and it’s easy to fabricate and fix with screws, nails or glues. The light and smooth surface makes it easy to mark up for cutting or sanding down, and it can be cut to various shapes and forms with ease using an electric saw, router or handsaw. Providing it doesn’t come into contact with water, MDF provides stability and a long-lasting finish. And, because MDF is so lightweight, it provides more flexibility in the ways in which it can be used.
Applications of MDF Sheets Cut to Size
MDF has become incredibly popular for its versatility – it can be used for numerous projects, from children’s toys to speaker cases, cabinets and even snooker tables. MDF is commonly used for flat-pack furniture and for doors, as it’s as a lightweight and affordable material that still delivers great strength and stability. It is also a popular material for shop fitting and displays as it’s a cost-effective material for temporary applications that need to be replaced or upgraded various times throughout the year.

What tolerance do you cut to?
We cut to a tolerance of +/-3mm.
What is your delivery timescale?
3-7 working days.
Is mirrored acrylic like normal mirror?
Mirrored acrylic is a flexible material, and needs to be attached to a perfectly flat surface. We recommend attaching it to MDF or something similar, making sure the adhesive is spread in a thin even layer across the acrylic. we also recommend using the 5mm thick acrylic as it is more rigid.
Can you cut any shape?
Yes, in acrylic. We will shortly be able to also cut any shape in polycarbonate as well.
What's your standard radius corner?
20mm, but we can cut to your requirements.
How many holes do I need in my acrylic?
1 per corner should be sufficient for smaller pieces. You might want to consider an extra hole in the middle if your sheet is larger.
Can I cut acrylic?
Yes, you can. Just take it slow and easy.
Can I put acrylic behind a hob?
Not if it is gas or electric. You need a gap of 5cm between an induction hob and the acrylic.
Do you fit the acrylic?
No, we don't. We do provide some templates which should help you to take your measurements. The acrylic is easy to install by any competent DIYer.
