Our Excellent Reviews

We offer quality service and have reviews from many satisfied customers.

CT-1 is a hybrid polymer sealant and adhesive which works effectively in both wet and dry conditions, so it’s useful for a wide range of applications including marine or boat applications, bathrooms and outdoor projects, doors and many other projects. This product can bond a wide variety of materials, from woods and stone to steel, lead and concrete. Whether you’re looking for a mould-resistant bath sealant, fixing a leaking greenhouse roof or bonding plastics to wood and other materials, this is a great product to choose.

In terms of bonding plastics, CT-1 is a great option – it can secure polycarbonates and Perspex, while maintaining flexibility which is particularly important for external applications where extreme temperature changes require an adhesive that will expand and contract accordingly. It’s also the only product on the market which is 100% ecologically compliant. At Cut My Plastic, we offer a choice of clear or white CT-1 sealant which will work effectively with any of our polycarbonate or Perspex sheets.

CT-1 is made up of a formulation which doesn’t include petro-chemicals – this enables it to develop an immediate grip on whatever surface it’s adhering to and makes it possible to affix itself to the trickiest of materials. The odourless formula means you won’t have to worry about being aware of it hours after applicants as with some other products – you can move on to the next project quickly.

It begins to cure almost instantly too, resulting in a flexible bond that can accommodate high levels of movement. The quick cure of CT-1 makes it an ideal choice for emergency repairs too. This flexibility means it’s also great in conditions where there may be vibrations, as it won’t crack or break. Because it creates a permanent bond, it will resist extreme weight loads, pressure and tensile strain, making it a useful product for applications where large amounts of weight will need to be supported.

This adhesive is food safe, so it’s ideal for applications in kitchens or commercial spaces where food hygiene is of the utmost importance, such as for splashbacks or splashguards. It’s UV resistant and prevents fungal growth, with excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents. CT-1 can also be painted, so if you have an application, such as doors, where paint will be necessary this is the perfect adhesive to use. Before using CT-1, it’s advisable to roughen the surface with some hard grain glass paper or a wire brush so the adhesive has something to grip to and spray a small amount of water onto the surface as well.

FAQs

What tolerance do you cut to?

We cut to a tolerance of +/-2mm.

What is your delivery timescale?

3-7 working days.

Is mirrored acrylic like normal mirror?

Mirrored acrylic is a flexible material, and needs to be attached to a perfectly flat surface. We recommend attaching it to MDF or something similar, making sure the adhesive is spread in a thin even layer across the acrylic. we also recommend using the 5mm thick acrylic as it is more rigid.

Can you cut any shape?

Yes, in acrylic. We will shortly be able to also cut any shape in polycarbonate as well.

What's your standard radius corner?

20mm, but we can cut to your requirements.

How many holes do I need in my acrylic?

1 per corner should be sufficient for smaller pieces. You might want to consider an extra hole in the middle if your sheet is larger.

Can I cut acrylic?

Yes, you can. Just take it slow and easy.

Can I put acrylic behind a hob?

Not if it is gas or electric. You need a gap of 5cm between an induction hob and the acrylic.

Do you fit the acrylic?

No, we don't. We do provide some templates which should help you to take your measurements. The acrylic is easy to install by any competent DIYer.

What's the difference between acrylic and Perspex?

Perspex is a brand name. It is the same as acrylic.
