6mm birch plywood is a high-quality multi-ply sheeting that delivers excellent physical and mechanical properties. It’s a common material in packaging, furniture, construction and vehicle manufacturing, as well as a number of other precision engineering applications as it is strong and easy to work with. Plywood is one of the most widely available manufactured board materials and by opting for a birch variety, there’s the added bonus of an elegant appearance as well. Birch plywood is considered a hardwood plywood that is more typically used for decorative purposes, compared to softwood plywood, but it can be used for a variety of purposes.
6mm Birch Plywood Grades
The birch plywood that we offer comes in high B/BB grade which provides a clear and smooth surface and is best-suited to applications where the appearance of the wood is important or for printing onto.
Benefits of 6mm Birch Plywood
6mm plywood is easy to work with, so it’s great for DIY projects – it can be cut easily with a fine-tooth panel saw. It also holds screws well so final products will hold together securely and remain stable. Birch plywood is also ideal for creating mitred edges or dovetail joints – the finishes available with this wood are much more uniform and cleaner, as the layers of the wood are more consistent. 6mm birch plywood is a strong and durable material that ensures that any application it is used for will stand the test of time and remain stable for years to come. Although birch is a stunning wood without the need for stains or painting, it can be stained easily as well, allowing for a range of finishing options. Our other, most popular sizes are 18mm birch plywood and 12mm birch plywood.
Applications of 6mm Birch Plywood Sheets
Birch wood is a stunning wood that has a lovely sheen and a rich finish that makes it ideal for decorative applications. From cabinets and pipe boxes to tables, chairs and other furniture items, 6mm plywood is great for delivering stability and is less prone to warping or bending than thinner plywood sheets. This thickness is also ideal for engraving and laser cutting, so it’s perfectly suited to signage for both exterior uses and for indoors, such as for door signs in businesses or around the home. For commercial industries such as construction, plywood is also a great option for creating frameworks and for cladding on walls. At this thickness, the plywood sheets can be used for cabinetry, storage containers, toys and shelving.
If you require your 6mm birch plywood sheets to be cut to a specific size or shape, we provide a custom cutting service and fast delivery to help you get started on your project as soon as possible.

What tolerance do you cut to?
We cut to a tolerance of +/-3mm.
What is your delivery timescale?
3-7 working days.
Is mirrored acrylic like normal mirror?
Mirrored acrylic is a flexible material, and needs to be attached to a perfectly flat surface. We recommend attaching it to MDF or something similar, making sure the adhesive is spread in a thin even layer across the acrylic. we also recommend using the 5mm thick acrylic as it is more rigid.
Can you cut any shape?
Yes, in acrylic. We will shortly be able to also cut any shape in polycarbonate as well.
What's your standard radius corner?
20mm, but we can cut to your requirements.
How many holes do I need in my acrylic?
1 per corner should be sufficient for smaller pieces. You might want to consider an extra hole in the middle if your sheet is larger.
Can I cut acrylic?
Yes, you can. Just take it slow and easy.
Can I put acrylic behind a hob?
Not if it is gas or electric. You need a gap of 5cm between an induction hob and the acrylic.
Do you fit the acrylic?
No, we don't. We do provide some templates which should help you to take your measurements. The acrylic is easy to install by any competent DIYer.
