What’s the difference between budget and premium acrylic purple splashbacks?
What we have called a budget splashback is in fact world class quality coloured acrylic, often called Perspex or Plexiglass. This acrylic is a solid colour right the way through and is a very cost effective high quality solution. The only slight drawback is that there is a limited range of colours available which may not suit your design.
This brings us nicely to our premium range of splashbacks. These are made from clear 5mm acrylic with the colour printed to the back using the latest uv printing technology. This allows us to create almost any color imaginable using CMYK colour mixing. The main difference in the finished product is that with our premium acrylic splashback you see through the clear to the colour, which is why you will sometimes hear them being described as glass look.
Both products create stunning results in the kitchen, bathroom or throughout the home so for me the only choice is the colour.
We recommend ordering a sample to check the colour in the final location as screens can display colours differently. If you can't find the correct colour or are trying to match a specific paint, RAL or Pantone colour get in touch and we can create a custom sample for you.

How properties make acrylic beneficial for purple splashbacks?
Acrylic is easy to clean and maintain, so it’s the perfect choice for splashbacks. This versatile material is lightweight, weighing half the weight of glass, but it’s far more durable and impact-resistant, as well as being shatterproof. The strength and hardwearing nature of acrylic is one of the key reasons why it is such a popular material, particularly in busy areas of the home where knocks and wear are commonplace. Acrylic is UV-resistant and naturally robust against weathering, even in sunny rooms, so the colour will remain vibrant.
Sheets of acrylic are easy to cut into any size or shape, so they’re perfect if you have bespoke needs and want a professional finish that’s free from unsightly joins. Acrylic is remarkably easy to fabricate and install, even in larger sheets, and can be installed by drilling into the wall or by gluing it into place using a strong adhesive – both of which are quick and effective. This malleability is one of the main reasons why acrylic sheets are such a popular choice for home applications.

What tolerance do you cut to?
We cut to a tolerance of +/-3mm.
What is your delivery timescale?
3-7 working days.
Is mirrored acrylic like normal mirror?
Mirrored acrylic is a flexible material, and needs to be attached to a perfectly flat surface. We recommend attaching it to MDF or something similar, making sure the adhesive is spread in a thin even layer across the acrylic. we also recommend using the 5mm thick acrylic as it is more rigid.
Can you cut any shape?
Yes, in acrylic. We will shortly be able to also cut any shape in polycarbonate as well.
What's your standard radius corner?
20mm, but we can cut to your requirements.
How many holes do I need in my acrylic?
1 per corner should be sufficient for smaller pieces. You might want to consider an extra hole in the middle if your sheet is larger.
Can I cut acrylic?
Yes, you can. Just take it slow and easy.
Can I put acrylic behind a hob?
Not if it is gas or electric. You need a gap of 5cm between an induction hob and the acrylic.
Do you fit the acrylic?
No, we don't. We do provide some templates which should help you to take your measurements. The acrylic is easy to install by any competent DIYer.
