What material is used for hoardings?
A popular material that is commonly used for construction site hoardings is Dibond sheeting – this has the durable properties of aluminium as well as the lightweight, rigid and non-porous qualities of polyethylene. This means it can be used outside without being prone to expansion or contractions in the changing temperatures. Construction hoardings need to meet certain requirements to adhere to legal regulations, such as being safe in high footfall areas, being able to cope with high winds and remaining safe if being positioned near a railway station or train platform.
Ensuring that the hoarding will remain strong and durable when exposed to water or other harsh weather conditions is also important – Dibond is a great option for this as it’s secure, rust-resistant and easy to print onto with excellent clarity. The high-resolution digital printing is applied directly onto the material for a long-lasting finish that is attention-grabbing. You can protect the boards further with protective laminates, with a choice of gloss, matte or high-gloss finishes that will protect it efficiently from damage or in areas where vandalism is more likely.
What are the benefits of printed hoardings?
Hoarding printing can be beneficial for a wide range of construction projects, from one-off graphics to larger, more elaborate designs that will transform the site into something attention-grabbing and memorable. Hoarding graphics are a great way to make use of an otherwise wasted space, advertising your company’s branding or services, or to promote the upcoming building or site to bring in visitors and attract interest.
From passing traffic to footfall traffic passing by, the positioning of hoardings ensures plenty of valuable exposure. Hoardings also cover unsightly building work and empty space to provide a more professional branded look to the exterior of the site, and they let the general public know that building works are being carried out. Furthermore, having a tall hoarding surrounding the site prevents intruders from gaining access to the area and keeps the building work and any equipment safe from vandalism or theft.
No matter what you have in mind for your hoarding, from a few panels to several metres of linear hoarding printing, we can help you create a fantastic display that serves double duty as a protective screen and a marketing tool. We are on hand to offer advice and assistance with creating your hoarding too, so if you have any questions or need guidance, get in contact and we’ll be happy to help.
