What makes acrylic such great material for printing?
Acrylic is ideally suited to printing as it has a smooth, flat surface that can be printed with either a glossy or matte finish. This allows for photo-quality images, logos and text. Acrylic is a great material for using in and outdoors, so it’s perfectly suited to custom signage for commercial spaces and retail businesses. The vast colour range available for acrylic sheeting gives plenty of options for printing to create a product that meets specific requirements, and it’s also easily fabricated so it can be printed to any size and cut to various shapes to create a truly bespoke result. Acrylic can be mounted away from the wall or surface it’s being attached to as well as using brackets to allow light to pass through in order to accentuate the graphics.
What can acrylic printing be used for?
Printed acrylic can be used for a wide variety of applications and environments. It’s particularly useful for bespoke signage, for offices, building exteriors, retail spaces and more, as it can be used to great effect both in and outdoors due to the versatile properties that acrylic possesses. The fine print quality makes it a great form of office decoration, such as a wall hanging or for branding purposes, and it can also be used for decorative room or cubicle dividers.
Acrylic printing isn’t limited to commercial applications, however. Because of the brilliant finish and opportunity to customise the acrylic with any design, colours or images you desire, it’s ideal for use around the home as well. Why not create your own stylish splashback for the kitchen or bathroom, with a specially designed print or pattern to suit the surrounding décor? Or maybe you want to add an attractive element to your walls to liven up a neutral space and add a splash of colour? Whatever you have in mind for your residential or commercial property, we can help you create the perfect result for your printed acrylic product.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you print on plexiglass?
Yes, it is fully possible to print on Plexiglass. Our polycarbonate sheeting is stronger and more durable than standard acrylic and the toughness and transparency make it a great option for printing text or logos onto for maximum visibility.
How long do acrylic prints last?
Our durable acrylic prints last up to 10 years if treated well. They are weather-resistant and waterproof so are ideal to use both indoors and outdoors.
Are acrylic or metal prints better?
When compared side by side, clear acrylic prints are vibrant and have an optical transmission of over 90% making them perfect to maintain your colours and appearance. With metal, you may lose some colour and definition to the natural shine of the sheet.
How do you clean acrylic prints?
Do not use harsh cleansers, just simply wipe down with a soft dry microfiber cloth. If you need to use a wet cloth, use water over a detergent. As well, avoid placing your acrylic print face down on any surface that may scratch your image.
Which is better: acrylic or canvas print?
Acrylic provides a sleek, modern and vibrant look which looks terrific in modern decors while canvas provides more of an old-fashioned feel. Canvas also creates a small amount of texture on the print from the absorbent material while acrylic leaves the print looking high quality and smooth.
Are our acrylic prints waterproof?
Yes. Acrylic prints are splashproof, and weather resistant making them easy to clean and dust with a damp cloth. This also makes them ideal to keep outdoors.
Are our acrylic prints heavy?
Acrylic prints are substantially lighter than glass prints but can be slightly heavier than other forms of prints. For a lightweight option, we recommend our Correx printing.
Can you frame an acrylic print?
While it is possible to frame an acrylic print, any frame used will cover up the edges of your print, spoiling the unique depth effect that the acrylic can produce
Can acrylic prints be hung outside?
As acrylic prints are extremely durable and resistant to most things that could cause an image to fade, they are ideal for outdoor use. Outdoor bars or patios can be harsh environments for non-acrylic prints, which will fade in the light, especially under UV rays.
Is acrylic safe?
If your main concern is about your health, acrylic is generally safe to use when it is used in the proper manner. They are easy to clean with soap and water, without the use of any toxic cleaning chemicals. They are also lightweight and durable for long term use.
